Program and Event Calendar for 2009 - 2010

Focusing on the AAUW Mission Statement, AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research,   members thoughtfully planned branch meetings and events for 2009 – 2010.  Programs include an update on our organization from members who attended the AAUW National Convention this summer and, in October, we will celebrate the 40th birthday of our branch.  Our branch meetings will feature respected speakers on national health care issues, the opportunities for students in public education, and women in the workforce. In addition, we are joining forces this year with the Girl Scouts and assisting with their Girls' U.  Every branch meeting is an opportunity for us to contribute to our Georgeann Gallian KEYS Scholarship Fund for graduates from KEYS School in the HEB ISD, and, at our holiday events, contribute to AAUW EF/LAF programs. Mark your calendar and plan to participate in all our branch activities this year.

School Supply Drive for KEYS Kids

There is something magical about getting new school supplies, and for our KEYS Kids, this is the magic for their school success.  Take advantage of the low cost of school supplies this year and pack a bag for KEYS!  Pocket folders, notebook paper, pens, pencils, graph paper, colored pens and pencils, and glue sticks are on the KEYS School Supply List.  Teachers have also requested boxes of tissues, hand sanitizer, hand held pencil sharpeners, post-it notes, and Ziploc bags for their classrooms. Bring your bag of supplies to our New Member Brunch on Saturday, August 22,  or the Branch Meeting  on September 12.  We will deliver all supplies to the KEYS Kids by September 15.
